SmileFaith Appalachia is a 501c3, nonprofit founded in 2009, by Tom and Chrissie Lane in Port Richey, Florida, when they saw the desperation in the lives of veterans and underprivileged people in need of dental care. With a sincere desire of seeing people be able to smile from the inside out, they began this faith based ministry that now includes charitable dental and medical services as well as life coach counseling. SmileFaith’s motto is “Hope with Every Smile”, and six years later there are hundreds of people smiling because of improved physical, spiritual, and mental health. In 2014, the SmileFaith Foundation expanded their outreach into the economically depressed area of the Appalachian Mountains. Drawn to Jenkins, Kentucky, they opened a dental and medical clinic. Additionally, they purchased a house where volunteer professionals stay during events, and an RV that has been transformed into the Mobile Mountain Dental and Medical Bus for use throughout Southeastern Kentucky.
