The ministry began about 70 years ago, and was started by Rawindra and Pushapa Dongerdive when God gave them the vision to serve the Indian state of Maharashtra. We are located in the central part of India, near Mumbai. It is a non-denominational Christian mission organization which believes that church in India should be self-governing, self-supporting, and self-propagating. The end goal of this mission is to become a self-sustaining church, which will send people around the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We train and empower Christian leaders, operate children’s homes and Christian schools, and minister to the poorest of the poor.We believe the church in India should use model that is self-supporting, self-governing and self-propagating. The goal for our mission is to become a self-sustaining New Testament Christian church, which will send people around the world with the Good News.
Today, Life Light Ministries has more than 30 missionaries planting 74 churches throughout the state, more than 150 pastors involved in our ministry programs, 60 children being cared for in the mission’s orphanage and more than 1,000 children studying in our Christian schools.
Life Light Ministries is registered as a 501(c) (3) organization based in Louisville, Kentucky, and all contributions are 100% tax deductible. All designated contributions go toward the mission field. Life Light Ministries is also registered as a nonprofit organization in India. We are blessed by an efficient Board of Directors and Advisory Committee that oversees all the financial decisions and mentors the staff.
