Born in Nigeria but raised in New Jersey, I am a Third Culture Kid and a third generation SIM missionary. I have been involved in ministry since 1982. Graduated from Bryan College (BA History, minors in Bible and Greek) and from Columbia Biblical Seminary (now Columbia International University (SC)) with an M.Div with cross-cultural ministry emphasis. Ordained to gospel ministry in 1991, my wife, Amy, and I went to Japan in 1992 where we helped plant a Japanese church in the Tokyo suburbs and I pastored it. During a home assignment in 2003, the Lord redirected our steps from a field-based ministry in Japan back to Bob’s roots in SIM, the agency with which his parents and grandparents served. Since 2004, Amy and I have had a multifaceted ministry of recruiting, selecting, training, and sending missionaries to serve with SIM in any of the 70+ countries in which we work, as well as assisting in the reentry process upon the missionaries’ return. Whether life coaching, mentoring, helping discern placement fit, or providing the Highlands Ability Battery, I am passionate about helping people grow in their individual walks with Jesus.
